OPPO Reno16 Series Lands in Kenya with AI Features and Advanced Cameras
Smartphone photography, video creation and AI-powered tools are getting an upgrade with the arrival of OPPO’s Reno16 Series in Kenya.
The new lineup, comprising the OPPO Reno16 5G and Reno16 F 5G, is designed for users who enjoy creating content, staying connected and managing everyday tasks on their phones.
OPPO has also introduced the Enco Air5 wireless earbuds, adding improved noise cancellation and longer battery life to its latest product lineup.
Better Selfies, Portraits and Video
The Reno16 Series puts a strong focus on photography, starting with a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view.
This makes it easier to capture group selfies without leaving people out of the frame.
On the rear, both phones feature a triple-camera setup with optical image stabilisation (OIS) on the main camera, a telephoto portrait camera with approximately 3.5x optical zoom and an ultra-wide camera.
The phones also introduce new editing tools through the Create hub in the Photos app. AI Remix Collage allows users to combine photos and short videos into creative compositions using animated stickers, text and layered effects.
Users can also extract moving subjects from Motion Photos and videos to create personalised stickers.
For video creators, 4K Auto Straighten Video helps keep footage level while moving. Dual View Video 2.0 also allows users to switch between rear camera lenses while recording.
AI Tools Designed for Everyday Life
Running on ColorOS 16, the Reno16 Series introduces several AI features aimed at making everyday phone use easier.
AI Mind Space helps users save and organize information from their screens for later reference. The AI Snap Key provides quick access to the feature, allowing users to capture useful information with a simple press.
Meanwhile, AI Bill Manager organizes digital payments and physical receipts into spending records and insights.
The series also introduces AI Mind Pilot, which coordinates multiple AI models to assist with different tasks. Users can compare responses side by side when seeking information or completing everyday activities.
Big Batteries and Faster Charging
Battery life is another major selling point.
The Reno16 lineup features batteries of at least 6,700mAh, with the Reno16 F offering up to 7,000mAh. The phones also support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
For users who regularly stream, game or make video calls, OPPO says AI LinkBoost 4.0 is designed to improve network stability, particularly in crowded places and areas with weaker signals.
The devices also feature IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings across the lineup. Splash Touch and Glove Touch allow users to operate the screens with wet hands or gloves.
OPPO Enco Air5 Brings Noise Cancellation
Alongside the smartphones, OPPO has launched the Enco Air5 wireless earbuds.
The earbuds feature up to 52dB active noise cancellation, designed to adjust to different environments, from busy public transport stops to offices.
They also feature 12mm dynamic bass drivers, OPPO Alive Audio for spatial sound and Sound Master EQ settings for different listening preferences.
For calls, a triple-microphone system with AI noise reduction helps isolate the user’s voice in noisy environments.
Battery life reaches up to 13 hours on a single charge and 54 hours when used with the charging case, depending on settings and usage. A 10-minute charge can provide up to 11 hours of playback under OPPO’s laboratory conditions.
Each earbud weighs approximately 4.3g and comes with an IP55 rating for dust and splash resistance. Bluetooth 6.1 and dual-device connectivity allow users to connect to a phone and tablet simultaneously.
