Bolt Plus Launches in Kenya With Ride Cashback and Free Delivery
Bolt has introduced Bolt Plus in Kenya, a subscription service offering savings on rides, food delivery and retail orders for customers who regularly use its platforms.
Starting at KSh 280 per month, the service offers ride cashback, free delivery on eligible orders, priority driver matching and faster food delivery. Subscribers also get three free ride cancellations each month.
New members get their first month free, while an annual subscription costs KSh 899. To mark the launch, Bolt is offering an introductory rate of KSh 119 per month for the first six months.
What Bolt Plus Members Get
The subscription is designed to reward frequent users by reducing some of the costs associated with everyday rides and deliveries.
Members receive 10% cashback on every ride, credited to their Bolt Balance for use on future trips. They can also save up to KSh 200 per eligible food or retail delivery, with qualifying restaurants and stores marked with a “+” in the app.
Other benefits include priority driver matching during busy periods, faster delivery of food and retail orders, and three free ride cancellations monthly.

Paid Digital Services Gain Ground
The launch comes as more Kenyans embrace digital services for everyday activities, from mobile payments to food ordering and transport.
Communications Authority of Kenya statistics for the third quarter of FY2025/26 showed active mobile subscriptions reaching 84.1 million, while mobile money subscriptions rose to 53.4 million.
The Media Council of Kenya’s Navigating the Digital Reality 26 study also found that 45.8% of respondents paid to access Kenyan digital content, reflecting growing familiarity with paid digital services.
For Bolt, the subscription model offers an opportunity to give frequent customers more value from services they already use.
Bolt Expands Its Kenyan Footprint
Bolt currently operates in nine Kenyan cities, with Bolt Food partnering with more than 2,000 restaurants and retail outlets. More than 2,500 courier partners support food and retail deliveries through the platform.
Ivy Njeri Maingi, Bolt Food General Manager for Kenya, said the service was developed around the everyday needs of frequent customers.
“A subscription only works when the customer can see the value in it, and that was the starting point for Bolt Plus,” she said, adding that the aim is to reward customer loyalty through practical savings and convenience.
Bolt Plus is available through the Bolt and Bolt Food apps in Kenya.
