Glovo, Partners Deliver 1.3 Million Meals to Fight Hunger
Glovo, a leading technology platform connecting customers, businesses, and riders, has highlighted the remarkable impact of its local social good initiatives.
Through strategic partnerships with Food4Education and Food Banking Kenya, Glovo has distributed over 1.3 million meals to vulnerable communities. These efforts underscore the company’s ongoing commitment to tackling food insecurity and reducing food waste across Kenya.
Since launching these partnerships, Glovo has provided essential support that has helped both organizations scale their models and deepen their community impact.
The initiatives target two key areas: ensuring children receive nutritious school lunches and rescuing surplus produce to feed food-insecure households.

Tackling Food Waste through Local Partnerships
By partnering directly with farms and producers, Food Banking Kenya prevents massive food losses. The organization rescues surplus produce before it goes to waste. In turn, this approach strengthens agricultural communities through farmer training and innovation.
Moreover, Glovo’s logistics support ensures that rescued food reaches vulnerable populations efficiently. Over the past year alone, this effort translated into more than 1.3 million meals for those in need.

“Our mission extends beyond convenience; it’s about building stronger, more resilient communities,” said Caroline Mutuku, General Manager for Glovo Kenya.
“Working with Food Banking Kenya allows us to make a real difference. By moving rescued food to where it’s needed most, we help reduce waste while ensuring no one goes hungry.”
